What we will do :
We will meet at the Starbucks next to entrance to Chinatown on Grant St. for introductions and a quick orientations. It’s a 10 minute walk from Union Square or we can meet at Macy’s Starbucks Union Square. I will teach you camera operation basics and the triangle of exposure.
Your photo assignment for this tour is to shoot travel, people, and food photos for a travel blog. You will also learn how to shoot street documentary style to capture the energy and lifestyle of San Francisco life. We will be walking north of Grant St. and visit the birthplace of the Fortune Cookie. From there, we walk a few blocks and visit a couple of bakeries and shops. There will be time to do some quick shopping. We then move on to the City Lights Bookstore . ( world famous ) and shoot interior shots there. I will teach you creative photo composition using the rule of thirds and leading lines.
The last segment of the photo walk is North Beach. There we get to visit the film location of Dirty Harry and the best pizza and cappuccino. We end the tour at Cafe Trieste where I give each photo student a constructive evaluation of their photo skills. Or we can have pizza at Tony’s.
